From engagement celebrations to bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, and the wedding day itself, there are usually many, many flowers involved in the event of marriage.

Going back hundreds of years, flowers have been found at the center of weddings, as the bride traditionally holds a bouquet of flowers as she walks down the aisle. Flowers not only symbolize romance and love, but they add natural beauty and color to the space as well.

In recent years, flowers have gone beyond bouquets and have been creatively adapted for use for fun activities and décor for all types of wedding parties. While buying professionally curated floral decorations can be pricey, a bit of DIY can go a long way to keep the cost down. We’ll share three ways you can use flowers in your wedding celebrations for less money. From elegant centerpieces to whimsical photo backdrops, incorporating flowers into your wedding doesn’t have to cost a fortune. With a little creativity, you can craft unique wedding decoration ideas for every style, whether your vibe is rustic, modern, or romantic. By sourcing seasonal blooms or even using faux flowers, you can achieve stunning results that fit any budget without compromising on beauty.

Flower Crowns

While spa days, trips away, and fancy meals out are common activities as part of a bachelorette party, bridal parties across the world are constantly arranging quirkier, fun activities for their bride to take part in. These could be trying arts and crafts, dressing up to hit the town, or going on an adventure day. One way to pack flowers, crafts, and dressing up into your bachelorette party is by making your own flower crowns together.

Making flower crowns isn’t a difficult task at all, meaning there will be time for you to catch up, have fun, and celebrate. All you need is three staple ingredients: a headband, some artificial or preserved flowers, and some glue.

Before sealing the deal, practice the placement of flowers on the headband so that you know exactly how you want your flower crown to look. Then, once you’ve achieved your desired look, spread a small layer of superglue onto the base of the flower and stick it onto the headband, keeping hold of it for a good 10 seconds before letting go.

Then, you’ll be able to continue celebrating the bride while wearing your floral creations!

Flower Walls

Often found at fancy events, engagement parties, and weddings, flower walls have become much more popular as they provide the perfect backdrop for a photo opportunity. If you’re wanting to reuse the flower wall across all wedding events, then it’s not a great idea to use real flowers, as they will sadly wilt.

What may be best is to utilize the array of false flowers on the market, although it’s also possible to buy them preserved. While flower walls are available to purchase in their full form, creating your own isn’t too difficult and the result can meet your expectations better than a pre-made one.

All you need is a backdrop stand, which you can create using sheets of plywood. These can either stand independently in the event space or be fitted to a wall. To decorate the backdrop, arrange the flowers in your choice of color, and use a staple gun to fix them to the backdrop. Often, using more flowers can mean the wall looks more professional, as it becomes harder to see the plywood or any of the staples. The bigger the better!

Hanging Flowers

Aside from the traditional décor of bouquets and centerpieces, hanging flowers make a nice addition to your wedding reception hall. They’re a perfect way to fill any gaps in your wedding reception area.

To create your own hanging flowers, first, find something you can use to hold the flowers. This might be a curtain, a hoop, or a basket. If opting for a basket, all you need to do is arrange the flowers in the basket and then hang them wherever you like. If you’d prefer to use a hoop or curtain, you’ll need to tie the flowers together with string and then appropriately fix them to the material of choice to hang from. Either way, it’s a great finishing touch.

If you’re in the process of planning your wedding and or any of the events leading up to it, you have the option to go flower crazy even on a budget, while having some crafty fun while doing it.
