1. Visit the Vizcaya Estate

Your visit to Miami is not complete if you don’t visit the historic 50-acre Vizcaya estate. This mansion offers a peek at life in South Florida at the turn of the century. Built by James Deering, this building is filled to the brim with artwork, furniture, and tapestries from the renaissance. We built the Formal Gardens to resemble France’s Versailles, but with palm trees, rare orchids, and Cuban limestone span an astonishing 10-acre.

2. Try out more than the beach

Apart from the renowned and remarkable tourist spot, South Beach, there are several other pristine beaches and spots all over Miami. Some of these great beaches include Haul over Beach, which is the only legal nude beach, the Virginia South Beach to mention a few? Also, there is plenty to see over the bridges in Miami like Little Havana or Coral Gables, don’t just stay stuck on South Beach!

Another place to explore is the Florida Keys, a stretch along the south of Florida that offers stunning beaches lined with prime trees and ocean real estate in its prime. You can also go swimming at the east end of the Key, and you can arrange your transport to get there on this website as it will take you about two hours to reach The Keys from Miami.

And if you’re in search of some great waterfront parks, attractive bike paths, beautiful views of Miami, and some swimming spots, then visit nearby Key Biscayne, and you can even get a picnic planned and hang out in Crandon Park.

3. Go clubbing

The nightlife in Miami is active, and if you’re someone that loves clubbing, then you probably know Miami is one of the best places in the world to be for that purpose. You should check out a few of these hotspots like the E11even, which is open 24 hours, the famous LIV Miami, and the basement that boasts an ice skating rink and bowling lanes?

4. The Fruit and Spice Park

In this park, you’ll find around 500 species of fruits, spice plants, and trees over 30 acres of land. Beautifully laid out, this park is suitable if you want to just walk and soaking up nature with its abundance of shaded paths.

5. Check out Coral Gables

Designed by George Merrick in the 1920s, Coral Gables is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in all the United States. They line it with boulevards and opulent mansions, and there are regulations in place that ensure that the buildings maintain the style that was designed by Merrick for the community. Don’t just admire the architecture; a visit to the tropical botanical garden, the opulent Venetian Pool, and the Lowe Art Museum is highly recommended.

6. Visit History Miami

Do not be deceived by the plain exterior of this history museum; a visit to History Miami will take you through Maimi’s history from the mosquito-filled swamp beginning to the modern, bustling city it is today. Expect exhibits on everything from the history of football to an entire gallery dedicated to folklore.

7. Explore Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Home to tropical plants, flowers, and some pretty rare species like the petticoat palm. You can explore this 84-acre garden on foot or make use of a 45-minute tram tour. And there’s more; “Wings of the Tropics” – a living exhibit of about 40 different species of butterflies.

8. Visit the Frost Science Museum

With four separate buildings dedicated to science, not leaving out a planetarium and a three-story aquarium, the Frost Science Museum is unarguably a state-of-the-art museum. It sports an aquarium that takes you from the surface of South Florida’s aquatic world down to the deepest depths, and this aquarium features everything from sharks to tuna and some tropical fish.

9. The Pérez Art Museum

The Pérez Art Museum (PAMM) has a whopping 200,000 square feet new building on the Biscayne Bayfront and is one of the biggest modern art museums in the city. There’s undoubtedly a lot to see here; a nearly 80 years rotating permanent collection of everything from paintings to kinetic sculptures would particularly impress you. There’s also the elaborately designed outdoor hanging sculpture garden that took two months to assemble.

10. Catch some live music

Last on this list is the live music you will not get elsewhere. This is such an experience that it’ll be a shame to visit Miami without catching some live music. Some of the better options are; Ball & Chain for Latin and Churchill’s Pub for grimy rock and punk music. You can get live music from both spots seven days a week.
